Kama - Vision Divine

This is a very basic collection. Nothing too fancy except the demo.

Great band, great line-up. Among the members of this band there are almost the best italian musicians from this genre. Not only it featured Fabio Lione and Michelle Luppi, two excellent vocalists, but also great musicians like Matteo Amoroso, Oleg Smirnoff, Andrew Mcpauls, Mat Stancioiu, Alessandro Bissa, Federico Puleri, Andrea Torricini, etc... All of those guys have played in many great italians bands. And of course, the mastermind behind Vision Divine, Olaf Thorsen (his real name is Carlo Andrea Magnani).

I wonder why those italians decided to use fake names... Maybe they thought it would be better for the foreign market? Oh well..

Anyway, this is a growing collections. I'm still missing "25th Hour" and the dvd, not to mention the new album that is going to be released soon! I can't wait.

Ah, the Symmetry album is actually their demo! It was released in a magazine (I think) called Metal Invader and it featured many bands demo. This is a very early Vision Divine, with very funny pictures of Fabio and Olaf.

Kama - Galloglass

Oh this band is also a very special band for me... I remember when I first listened to their debut album. The violin lines they added to their songs and the melodic vocals so beautifully sang...

It's a shame they disbanded. Even more because Andrew "Mac" McDermott from Threshold was going to be their vocalist after the release of "Heavenseeker". Too bad the guy died though.

The limited edition of "Heavenseeker" is amon my favorite digipaks in my collections. But thats mainly because I watched the bonus dvd so much, I almost burned my dvd player. I even had ripped the videos and posted on youtube and the guitarrist Kai Mühlenbruch commented on the videos and approved my action! I thought he would ask me to take down the videos, but he liked so more people could see them. He was a very nice fella.

Also, that digipak comes with a poster of the cover art which is not in the pictures because its framed in my wall :P Sorry for that!

I'm afraid this is going to be the only post regarding Galloglass :( They are fairly unknown but I would love to see more people posting their copies if they own any! This band is way too good to be so unknown.

Kama - Dimmu Borgir

This band was my first step into black metal. As lame as it may sound, at least I had to start somewhere!

In the past I was really into power metal only... But you can't focus on a single genre, not with metal! So I started to look for bands that had a similar sound to my favorite bands in other genres. Even though Dimmu has nothing to do with power metal, it had the symphonic element that I was crazy about in bands like Rhapsody and Dark Moor at that time.

So I had to check them out. And I'm glad I did. After listening to Dimmu A LOT, I started to open my mind to other bands in the black metal genre, even if Dimmu is not that well accepted in the black metal community. I don't care to be honest. I really enjoyed their music and specially their first albums, so I went to search for more bands in this genre and found tons of other awesome bands.

Also, Dimmu Borgir has the best digibook in my collection. "In Sorte Diaboli" digibook is a very VERY awesome piece of art. It includes a mirror so you can read the booklet. Also comes with a bonus dvd. Its nicely done and it amazed me for being a brazilian release! Usually those kind of editions are featured in jewel cases or simple digipaks, not in something so detailed and beautiful like this. See for yourself below!

Kama - Athena

Athena is a very dear band to me. Even though they disbanded for quite some time and have released only 3 albums, each with a different line-up and specially vocalists, they were the first metal band I ever got addicted to.

It may sound silly for having started with such an unknown and not-that-good band, but those were different times.

"Twilight of Days" is a very special album to me because it was my first metal cd ever. The first I bought and started my collection. Also I listened to that cd so much that I wonder how it didn't melt already!

"A New Religion?" is also very nice because it featured Fabio Lione from Rhapsody on vocals. At the time I listened to that album, I was extremely addicted to Rhapsody. So having an album from one of Fabio's past bands was a true honor and privilege for me. I'm proud to own a promo of that cd that is still sealed!

"Inside the Moon" was a really trouble to get... That album is out of print for a long long time and everytime it popped on Ebay, it had a very high cost or the person wouldn't ship to Brazil. But I never gave up and ended getting it! And also as a japanese edition, making it even "rarer" hahaha.

This collection is far from being complete. I still plan on getting every kind of release of this band.

Kama - Amon Amarth

Amon Amarth is a band I really like. I dare to say they are in my Top 10! When I first heard their music they had just released the album "Fate of Norns". Yeah, I know, its quite late but it was enough to make me check their entire discography!!

From there, when "With Oden on Our Side" released, I simply couldn't stop listening to "Runes to My Memory"... Simply awesome!

It was hard to find their albums here in Brazil, at least with a good price! They were released by Sum Records which now no longer exists, so their older albums are all out of print here... So all we had left was the import versions, which are pretty damn expensive! But I managed to find a very cheap "Versus The World" with 2 CDs!! But after that I couldn't find any other with a reasonable price...

Well, luckly for me I found recently a webshop with many albums for a very nice price, so I ordered all their latest albums! And the best part is that all of those were double versions! "With Oden on Our Side" with a bonus cd, "Twilight of the Thunder God" in slipcase and with bonus dvd (which is awesome btw) and "Surtur Rising" with a bonus dvd too! Simply wonderful!
