FAQ

So this is a little FAQ that I'll be updating as more questions come up.

REGARDING COLLECTIONS

Q: What should I do to show a picture of this cd or my collection?
A: Just take a look in our "Join us" link above or clicking here.

Q: What kind of pictures should I take?
A: Well, any that you find suitable for display. But try to avoid blurred and dark pictures. The fun about this is to have many details about the art behind every CD!

Q: What sized or formats of pictures should I send?
A: We can edit for you if you want. But if you prefer to do it yourself and add your own style, it's ok! We usually post pictures with width of 1024 pixels and a proportional height, depending on the camera. But bigger pictures are also ok, as it displays more details!

Q: I don't want to display my pictures anymore. Can you take it off?
A: Ok.. but are you sure? Well, if you say so, just send us an email or ask in the comments. If you are an author you can do it yourself... I think, not sure yet. But anyway, just ask us and we will remove the pictures.

Q: What kind of collection should I post?
A: Any you want, if it is a rock/metal collection or CD. But if you have something epic like a nice soundtrack or this very old jazz/blues vinyl, sure you can post! Anything that's related to rock, or even music in general is ok! But... let's keep it clean, ok?

REGARDING THE WEBSITE

Q: Is this mainly an english website?
A: Yes. Although if any author don't speak english, he/she can post in his mother tongue. It's mainly in english because it's better for people from many countries to understand, as most of the bands we enjoy have lyrics in english (with many exceptions, of course). But we are ok with any language :)

Q: Can I share the pictures I see here?
A: Well, if the owner of the picture says it's ok, sure why not? Just don't go posting around saying it's yours if it isn't. That's just not cool man...

Q: Can you add my website as a link or partner?
A: Sure! Just give us some time first. We still have not added a Links section.

REGARDING HOW TO POST

Q: I'm an author, how should I post my pictures?
A: The main "power" of this website is the tag section. There people can go directly to the band they like to check for pictures. So the most important thing to do is to add decent and correct tags to the post. Please keep the grammar correct and the band original name. Don't add the country unless there are cases of bands with the same name (which is pretty rare).

Q: What's the correct way to add a tag?
A: Band names should be displayed correctly like "Rhapsody of Fire" with capital first letters (except for "of" "the" etc). Also do not add the country! Tags like "Rhapsody of Fire (ITA)" or something will be edited. And add only the band's name, don't add the name of the album. Let's keep the tag menu clean and organized.

Q: What should I say in the post?
A: Well, you can write whatever you want. Personal commentaries about the CDs, background history, a review, or just straight to the point! Just avoid using too much colors or details on the letters. Try not to change the font on the text as the posts follow the standard given by blogger.
Also! Don't forget to add a link in the bottom of your post directing to Metal-Archives with the band profile it it's the first time this band is being posted. So people can find more information about the band!

Q: What size the pictures must have?
A: Any starting from 1024x768. The idea is to have big pictures with many details as possible, as this is the main charm of it! And add a caption with some insight about the picture if you want. It always help to describe better what is being shown.

Q: Can I post in other language other than english?
A: Yes. If you don't speak english or very little of it, then go ahead and post in your mother tongue. Of course if you don't speak any english at all, you won't be able to read this! So, yeah...
