Leonardo Gabriel - Erben der Schöpfung / Elis (Collection)

Well, that's my collection for the band Elis. To be more exact, to the work of singer Sabine Dünser, who died in 2006, victim of a cerebral hemorrhage.

It all started with the band Erben der Schöpfung, in the small country of Liechtenstein. Band whose sound is a union of Gothic Metal with electronic elements.

So here is the first edition released in Brazil.

Kama - Gaia Epicus - Satrap

Very interesting band. Maybe nothing new from a Power Metal band, but still, its hard to see a norwegian band playing this genre. I was lucky to find this digipak because I had only listened to this album by the time I bought it and I really liked it. Its the debut album from Gaia Epicus and it seems to be the first press too.

Gaia Epicus is worth checking out, if you are into standard power metal bands.

Kama - Freternia - A Nightmare Story

This is sadly a pretty unknown band. I got to know about them when I bought my Helloween Tribute, "Keepers of Jericho Part 2". Both parts of this tribute are AWESOME and feature tons of great bands! The first part have mostly big power metal bands like Rhapsody, Sonata Arctica, etc. The second part is the opposite, it features not-that-much-known bands. And Freternia was among them.

But I really got into this band after I heard one song and I noticed that I already had heard this vocals before. Again, the vocalist of this band was also the vocalist of IronWare, another band that I heard in another compilation! This time was "Louder Than the Dragon", a Limb Records band compilation that featured one song from every major band of the label. And IronWare was one of those with their awesome song "Holy Man". I loved that song and when I heard the same vocalist in Freternia I knew I would like this band too.

So I looked for their cds... But they were really hard to find! I even gave up.... Luckly I found this digipak in one of my travels to Galeria to Rock and it was really cheap too!!

This digipak was made by Scarecrow Records, a Mexican label. It features one bonus track and also comes with a mini catalogue of the label's latest cds. I love those catalogues!

Kama - Turisas - The Varangian Way

Well this was a weird thing to catch on ebay. Long ago when I was an ebay rat, I would dig every corner of that website looking for any kind of rarities from bands I like. And Turisas was one of those bands.

This is a promo version of their second album, "The Varangian Way". It's weird because its in a DVD case. And it also feature the bonus DVD that comes with the limited edition! I've never seen a promo like this. Obviously the DVD is a hand made copy, but the CD is official. The cover is printed in those ordinary glossy papers from normal DVDs.

I don't know if the guy made this to look more atractive to buyers by adding the bonus DVD or it's really official.

Kama - Opeth - Ghost Reveries

This band is becoming a favorite to me. I had only known this album "Ghost Reveries" until recently, when I decided to listen to their discography properly. And I'm really happy for doing it! Their music is amazing, very somber with great vocals going from extreme and death'ish to very calm and clean.

The guitars also play a big part here. From heavy and fast to acoustic and slow. Everything is in perfect balance in this band and specially this album. It was the first album I listened and the first I bought. And couldn't be a better edition! Digipak in matted paper instead of the glossy standard. And it features a bonus DVD with a very entertaining documentary. Also the bonus track of Deep Purple cover.

I'm planning on start a big collection on this band, so stay tuned if you are an Opeth fan!
